Dr Erinma Ochu is Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellow, exploring the cultural value of citizen science and innovative ways the public can participate in biomedical research. Trained originally as a neuroscientist, her diverse career includes five years working in the film, TV and cultural sector and another five years on citizen-led initiatives including Manchester Beacon and Catalyst, a Lancaster University-led initiative exploring how technology can support citizen-led social innovation. She believes that the world has so many problems – let’s solve them together! Mass collaboration, mass participation and citizen-led social innovation are her passions.
